If you are looking for a funny story to make you laugh out loud I would recommend my favourite series of books.
Seriously Silly Stories are written by Laurence Anholt and illustrated by Arthur Robins. They are based on favourite stories you will know already but are given a new twist. Can you guess the original story hinted at from some of the titles? Eco-Wolf and the Three Pigs, Daft Jack and the Beanstack, Cinderboy or Rumply Crumply Stinky Pin. These stories have not been tested on animals. There are more Seriously Silly Stories than you can count on the fingers of three feet!
Check out Seriously Silly Rhymes too - Laurence Anholt wrote the rhymes, Arthur Robins drew the lines.

Tom Palmer
Check out Tom Palmer's books!
If you like football, mystery, adventure and thrills and spills then the Foul Play series are for you.
He's a local lad too as he lives just along the road from us in Todmorden. OK, he supports Leeds United but nobody's perfect, I mean, look at me, I support Gillingham!

Ian Bland comes to The Wheatsheaf Library
I'm really looking forward to Thursday 3rd August. That's when Ian Bland is coming to The Wheatsheaf Library.
He's a poet in the mould of Craig Bradley and you may have seen him at your school as he has visited loads in Rochdale.
It's his first visit to our libraries, though. He will be here from 11.00 a.m. for about an hour.
I hope you can come along and join in. There will be time to listen to his poems and join in a poetry workshop too.
No need to book - just turn up on the day.
